Job summary

Banner Life Insurance Company in Frederick, MD is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to define, engineer, and evolve enterprise network capabilities across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will establish architecture standards, drive modernization, and mentor the Network Engineering team to deliver scalable, secure connectivity for our digital footprint.

You will lead cloud‑native networking, zero trust, and SD‑WAN initiatives, partner with product and cyber teams, provide Tier‑3 support,

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or CS or equivalent experience.
CCNP/CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Datacenter or Security certification(s).
Technical training in network operating systems.
Must have 8+ years configuring network devices and services.

Responsibilities

Define and maintain enterprise network standards, reference architectures, and engineering guardrails aligned to future‑state architecture.
Establish “what good looks like” for network design, security, and performance across the organization.
Design and evolve network platforms to support growth, digital traffic, and future scalability.
Lead cloud‑native networking, zero trust architecture, SD‑WAN evolution, and decommissioning of legacy networks.
Provide Tier‑3 escalation support and drive root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and runbooks.
Drive network automation and policy‑driven networking for scalable operations.
