Job summary

Zedcor Inc. is seeking a player-coach Network Engineer in Houston to own LAN/WAN, data center networking, and Azure buildout across US/Canada. You will set standards, perform hands-on engineering, and build operational discipline for compliance. This full-time role is based at our Houston Willowbrook office.

You will design and operate hybrid cloud networks, manage firewalls, VPNs, and IPAM, mentor junior staff, and ensure security controls align with Zero Trust and SOC 2 requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience with 2+ years in leadership.
• Production experience with Azure networking (ExpressRoute, VNETs, VPN gateways, NSGs).
• Active CCNP Enterprise or equivalent certification required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong documentation and change-management discipline.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audit programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate LAN, WAN, and wireless networks across multiple sites.
• Own datacenter networking, telecommunications, and monitoring.
• Engineer and operate hybrid cloud networking (Azure, ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, DNS).
• Administer F5 BIG-IP with WAF fronting production and perform upgrades.
• Manage firewalls, Zero Trust controls, and Entra ID-based access.
• Maintain IP address management, DNS/DHCP, and network diagrams/runbooks.
• Support SOC 2 readiness, incident response, and disaster recovery activities.
