Job summary

Aurora in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (P6) to own network architecture and operations end to end. You'll design, deploy, and scale the networks that keep Aurora running—from corporate offices to manufacturing sites and truck terminals.

This senior IC role requires 8+ years of enterprise/network experience, strong automation with Python and IaC, and the ability to lead complex deployments, mentor peers, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating enterprise networks in production environments.
• Deep expertise in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, QoS.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco/Juniper/Arista et al.).
• Experience with wireless design and network access control (802.1X, RADIUS).
• Strong automation skills with Python and IaC, source control.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate network infrastructure across offices, manufacturing sites, and terminals.
• Lead security implementations including 802.1X, NAC, firewall policy design.
• Own monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning for the network.
• Architect and scale LAN, WLAN, and VPN environments with routing protocols.
• Build network automation and IaC pipelines using Python and CI/CD.
• Establish and maintain network standards, diagrams, IPAM, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with IT/Security/Engineering to scope network requirements for new sites.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
