Job summary

Dutch Ridge Consulting Group, LLC (DRCG) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to support a federal customer’s IT modernization goals. The role provides Tier 3 engineering and operational support for classified and unclassified networks across a large, globally distributed enterprise.

The engineer will work across on- premise datacenters, campus networks, WAN, and cloud environments, supporting hundreds of locations worldwide with a hybrid work model at Merrifield, VA (3 days

Qualifications

Active/current Secret Clearance required at time of hire.
7+ years of relevant experience in networking.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience designing and supporting network access security solutions.
Expert knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking including routing, switching, and troubleshooting at scale.
Strong experience with LAN, WAN, and global network optimization.
Experience with cloud networking in AWS and Azure.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
Strong documentation discipline and operational rigor.

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 3 engineering and operational support for both classified and unclassified networks across a large, globally distributed enterprise.

Description

DRCG is seeking a highly motivated, Senior Network Engineer, to support a federal customer's goals to modernize and transform their IT environment to efficiently deliver new technologies to their workforce.

The Senior Network Engineer provides Tier 3 engineering and operational support for classified and unclassified networks across a large, globally distributed enterprise. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across security, cloud, and infrastructure teams while supporting mission-critical systems.

The engineer will support hundreds of domestic and international locations and operate across on-premise datacenters, campus networks, WAN, and cloud environments.

Job Location:

Hybrid Opportunity with onsite location at Merrifield, VA (3-days on-site weekly requirement)

Responsibilities

The Senior Network Engineer will:

Provide support to classified and unclassified Tier 3 senior-level support for the design, implementation, and deployment of network-specific technologies across the DEA Enterprise environment, consisting of hundreds of locations worldwide.
Provide engineering and operational support for cloud providers, including AWS and Azure, on-premise data centers, campus networks, Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Networks (DMVPN), Firewall, Layer 2/3, wireless networks, network applications installed on client workstations, optimization of various LAN and WAN environments, data center load balancing, and network access security to include 802.1x and Cisco ISE.

Requirements

Active/current Secret Clearance is required at the time of hire.
7+ years of relevant experience
Bachelors degree in a related field or relevant work experience
Experience designing and supporting network access security solutions
Expert knowledge of Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking including routing, switching, and troubleshooting at scale
Strong experience with LAN, WAN, and global network optimization
Understand Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) environments
Strong expertise with 802.1X authentication
Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Experience providing engineering and operational support for cloud networking in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
Strong understanding of VMWare environments
Experience providing design, implementation, and deployment of network-specific technologies
Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, mission-critical environments
Strong troubleshooting methodology and root-cause analysis skills
Experience supporting strict change management and approval processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong documentation discipline and operational rigor
CCIE or CCNP certification is preferred
