Job summary

A recruitment firm is seeking a Network Engineer to design and implement core routing and switching in data centers. The role requires experience with EVPN-VXLAN, and knowledge of HPE and Cisco platforms. Key responsibilities include supporting infrastructure projects and maintaining network security. Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, document, and implement core routing and switching for data centers.
• Engineer and operate EVPN-VXLAN overlay and underlay environments.
• Support infrastructure projects including new implementations and hardware upgrades.
• Perform code certification and implement vendor code upgrades.
• Maintain network security through tactical change management.
• Provide operational support and participate in on-call rotation.
• Document complex technologies using Visio.
• Collaborate with enterprise infrastructure teams.

Skills

EVPN-VXLAN configuration and troubleshooting

Overlay technologies including VXLAN and EVPN-BGP

Configuration and support of HPE and Cisco networking platforms

Network engineering and troubleshooting across enterprise environments

Routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, VRF

Switched protocols like PVST, RPVST, HSRP/VRRP

Data center network design and support

Common network services like DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH

Infrastructure automation with scripting languages (bash, Python, Ansible)

Network observability and monitoring systems

Communication and technical writing skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Network Engineering

Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification
