Job summary

FEDITC, LLC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (CONUS) to support DoD and intelligence agencies from Washington, DC. Active US citizenship and Secret DoD clearance are required. The role focuses on LAN/WAN security, configuration, and network performance, with experience in Cisco systems and DoD standards.

The candidate will work on modernization initiatives including Zero Trust Architecture. Responsibilities include leadership across engineers and stakeholders, monitoring with SolarWinds

Qualifications

  • Active United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 5+ years networking experience or technical/vocational training with 10+ years networking experience.
  • CCNP and CISSP certifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for LAN/WAN network issues within CONUS operations.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues across OSI layers.
  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordinate with engineers, government personnel, and stakeholders.
  • Utilize SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, and Ansible for monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and IDS for security.
  • Develop and implement network standards, policies, and procedures aligned with DoD requirements.
  • Analyze network performance and implement improvements for uptime and efficiency.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and recommend enhancements for mission requirements.
  • Communicate status updates and technical solutions to customers and leadership.
  • Support modernization initiatives including Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Participate in additional technical projects as needed.

Overview Of Position

FEDITC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (CONUS) to work in Washington, DC.

A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

This is an upcoming opportunity contingent on contract award .

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for LAN/WLAN/WAN network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection within CONUS operations.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues across all layers of the OSI model.
  • Perform installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordinate with engineers, government personnel, and stakeholders.
  • Utilize tools such as SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, and Ansible for monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and IDS systems to maintain network security and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Configure, implement, and maintain enterprise firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other network security technologies to protect DHA network infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement network standards, policies, and procedures aligned with DoD requirements.
  • Analyze network performance and implement improvements to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and recommend enhancements to support mission requirements.
  • Communicate status updates and technical solutions to customers and leadership.
  • Support modernization initiatives including Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Participate in additional technical projects as needed.
Experience / Skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP.
  • Strong experience with LAN/WAN architectures, routing, switching, and multi-protocol environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco systems, Windows environments, Active Directory, UNIX, and OpenVMS.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, cable testers, OTDR, and packet analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of MIB, MRTG, and performance monitoring strategies.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (preferred).
  • Experience supporting DoD Health Care Information Systems is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Technical/Vocational training AND 10+ years of progressively complex networking experience
Required Certifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are required.
Clearance
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
  • Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC'S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
