Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize a robust IP/BGP network in a demanding environment. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, and related devices, while monitoring performance and ensuring high availability.

You will lead security initiatives (Zero Trust/SASE), manage virtualization and server platforms, and develop automation for provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years performing network engineering/administration roles.
• Telecommunications industry experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP and routing (BGP/OSPF).
• Strong OSI model knowledge; troubleshoot TCP/IP networks with tools.
• Experience deploying WANs/LANs, firewalls, DNS, VLANs, VPNs.
• Experience across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid (AWS/Azure/OCI).
• Knowledge of Metro Ethernet services and EPL/EVPL terms.
• Proficient with network OSs: Arista EOS, Cisco IOS XR, Ciena SAOS, Fortinet FortiOS, PAN-OS.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot a highly available IP/BGP network.
• Configure, install, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and related devices.
• Monitor performance, device health, availability, and data integrity.
• Lead Zero Trust/SASE security deployment and operations.
• Maintain network-related hypervisors/VMs and Linux/Windows servers.
• Develop automation for provisioning, config, monitoring, and validation.
• Research new network tech and recommend equipment during refresh cycles.
• Provide consulting and high-level escalation support to Threshold customers.
• Create custom solutions within the sales engineering scope.
• Assist with Threshold VoIP platforms ( hosted PBX, SIP trunking ).
• Maintain accurate documentation in ticketing system and knowledge base.
• Mentor team members and participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform on-site data center work for installation and maintenance.
