Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Senior Network Engineer – AVP to design, build and run its global network infrastructure. This role covers data center, core, campus, branch, and edge environments with emphasis on scalability, security, and automation.

You will lead complex architecture decisions, mentor teams, and drive DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and reliability across WAN/LAN and cloud connectivity.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in enterprise-grade networks (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, QoS, MPLS).
• Experience with spine-leaf data centers, VXLAN/EVPN, DWDM; modern data center design.
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, F5 platforms for data networks.
• Experience delivering large-scale networks across LAN/MAN/WAN and wireless.
• Knowledge of network automation: Cisco NSO, Ansible, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run Barclays’ global network infrastructure platforms.
• Lead incident response and drive automation to improve availability.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to meet business needs.
• Ensure security, reliability, and performance of network services.
