Job summary

Turnberry Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Digital Modernization practice in a hybrid role based in West Des Moines, IA. The position emphasizes leadership in developing a next-generation network peering infrastructure and setting architectural standards for network/telephony services.

You will balance traditional networking with SDN and cloud capabilities, guiding design decisions and providing thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in networking.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing, VoIP and video topologies.
• Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience implementing network cybersecurity capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical efforts in developing and implementing a next-generation network peering infrastructure.
• Provide architectural design standards for new network/telephony services and for network designs.
• Balance traditional networking with software-defined networking and cloud capabilities to provide robust, cost-effective services.
• Research and coordinate network hardware, software and monitoring tool implementations; mentor junior engineers.

Job description

Duration: 5 months
Location: Hybrid – onsite 3-4 days, West Des Moines, Iowa
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical leadership in developing and implementing a next generation network peering infrastructure for our business. This includes developing processes and operating procedures for management.
• Provide architectural design standards for new network/telephony services as well as network impact assessments and network designs.
• Provide thought leadership in ensuring strategy correctly balances traditional networking technologies, software defined networking and cloud capabilities in providing robust, cost effective services.
• Researches and coordinates implementation of network hardware, software and monitoring tools. Assists and provides engineering and knowledge transfer to the network engineers for setup & configuration. Possess critical thinking, verbal/written communication and leadership skills.
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience
• Design, configuration/deployment and documentation of complex L1/L2/L3 protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing, L2/L3, VoIP and Video topologies. Specifically looking for relative experience with internet peering solutions.
• Direct knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
• Experience implementing network cybersecurity capabilities to include web-proxy filters, multi-tiered DMZs, ACI network segmentation, intrusion detection/prevention, and data loss prevention
• Exhibit leadership qualities by taking the initiative to identify and resolve issues
• Expert level capability in designing and implementing network peering solutions.
  

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
