Job summary

ZealHire Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and support large-scale data center networks in Santa Clara, CA. The role emphasizes Arista expertise, VXLAN/EVPN, InfiniBand and HPC workloads, with hybrid onsite work 2–3 days per week.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in network engineering, strong Linux/UNIX and scripting skills, and hands-on experience with spine-leaf architectures and SAN/NAS services. Familiarity with Cumulus, Mellanox and RoCE is a plus.

Qualifications

Position Overview:

Senior Network Engineer supporting enterprise data center buildouts.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and support large-scale data center networks.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Arista is required; Mellanox is a major plus.
• Technical knowledge of Cumulus Networks is a major plus.
• Experience designing and architecting data center networking plans, including high-level and low-level design, implementation, and acceptance testing.
• Extensive virtual networking experience with Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) and Ethernet VPN (EVPN).
• Experience with structured cabling for network connectivity.
• Expertise in network design, implementation, and best practices for high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Expert knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), advanced UNIX services, and shell scripting.
• Deep understanding of HPC and cluster technologies using InfiniBand and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
• Understanding of rack elevation, data center, and pod design using spine-leaf fabrics.
• Strong background in physical cabling types, specifically InfiniBand HDR and EDR.
• Strong track record implementing network services in distributed computing environments.
• Expert knowledge of storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) services, including iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.
• Understanding of workload schedulers such as Slurm.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef, or Puppet.
