Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a large hospital project in Dallas, TX. This is a five-year hybrid contract with 2-3 days onsite, offering $55-$75 per hour and opportunities to architect, design, and support complex enterprise networks.

Role requires expert Cisco networking skills, SD-Access, VXLAN EVPN, and extensive LAN/MAN/WAN experience. You will lead end-to-end design and implementation with minimal supervision, ensuring performance, reliability, and SLA compliance.

Qualifications

  • CCIE certification preferred.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with enterprise networking.
  • Expert knowledge of SDA (Software-Defined Access).
  • Experience with Catalyst Center (DNA Center).
  • Experience with VXLAN EVPN.
  • Design, implement, and support large-scale LAN/MAN/WAN environments.
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, and routed protocols.
  • Solid knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex network design and deployment initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Serve as SME on network planning, architecture, and technologies.
  • Develop standards, documentation, and implementation guidelines.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-impact issues.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend performance improvements.
  • Interface with vendors for hardware/software selections and escalations.
  • Oversee outsourced network services and review SLAs.
  • Perform upgrades, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure network performance and reliability through proactive monitoring.
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation.
  • Participate in department on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams.

ROLE OVERVIEW - 5 year contract - hybrid (2-3 days onsite) - 55-75/hr

A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a Senior Network Engineer for a large hospital in Dallas, TX. The Network Engineer will architect, design, and support complex enterprise network infrastructures. This includes new solution design, enhancement of existing architectures, and leading end‑to‑end implementation efforts with minimal supervision. The role supports mission‑critical systems, ensuring network availability, scalability, performance, and compliance with organizational SLAs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead complex network design and deployment initiatives from concept through implementation
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on network planning, architecture, and technologies
  • Develop technical standards, documentation, and implementation guidelines
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high‑impact issues
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance performance and reliability
  • Interface with vendors for hardware/software selection and escalations
  • Partner with and provide oversight to network services outsourcing/managed service partners, including SLA review
  • Perform system upgrades, maintenance, and capacity planning
  • Ensure network performance, availability, and reliability through proactive monitoring
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation
  • Participate in a departmental on‑call rotation
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams
Required Skills & Experience
  • CCIE certification (preferred)
  • Expert‑level hands‑on experience (10+ years) with enterprise networking
  • Strong proficiency with the following Cisco technologies:
  • SDA (Software‑Defined Access)
  • Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center)
  • VXLAN EVPN
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale LAN/MAN/WAN environments
  • Deep understanding of routing, switching, and routed protocols
  • Strong knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP
  • Expertise with network monitoring, diagnostics, and packet analysis tools
