Job Description

Summary:

K2 Services is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies, along with proficiency in Cisco or Arista switches, to lead and enhance our network infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex networks while ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives to optimize network architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of a robust and scalable network infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
• Configure and manage firewalls using Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies to ensure the highest level of security.
• Design and implement complex routing and switching solutions using Cisco or Arista switches.
• Act as the liaison and subject matter expert between architecture, security, and engineering teams to integrate technical solutions into existing, multifaceted, customer-facing production environments.
• Manage change procedures with detailed ownership, planning, and execution of highly complex, secure, high-risk, multifaceted changes.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams and individuals as appropriate.
• Serve as a top-level escalation point for all networks and related technical designs.
• Respond to, analyze, and follow up on outstanding network issues at all levels, ensuring timely resolution.
• Strive to improve communication and teamwork across organizations.
• Additional key functions include carrier management, incident management, problem management, capacity management, service acceptance, event management, performance management, and standards compliance, focusing on service restoration, sustainability, and proactive service improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in a large multi-platform environment or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with expertise in Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco or Arista switches.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security, and infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet products.
• Advanced proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco or Arista switches.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, NSE, and CCIE are highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with extensive experience in networking and telecommunications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer support and interfacing skills, with the ability to persuade, convince, or influence others.
• Ability to lead and impact others at all organizational levels.
• Proven success in managing concurrent problems effectively in high-pressure environments.
• Advanced understanding of business strategy as it relates to network environments.
