BCforward is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer in Charlotte, NC (onsite) for a 12‑month contract. The role focuses on data center networking with Juniper technology, including design, troubleshooting, and automation.

You will mentor junior staff and collaborate across engineering teams to implement innovative solutions and maintain high standards. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in relevant roles, strong Juniper experience (MX/QFX/PTX/EX), and proficiency in Python for test automation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for data center networking, including design, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, best practices, and automation.
• Provide primary technical support for break/fix activities and restore services using advanced diagnostics.
• Advise on Junos configurations and network design best practices.
• Manage and grow relationships with internal teams and partners in engineering design and development.
• Review designs and project activities for standards compliance and provide feedback to improve quality.
• Contribute domain expertise and leadership to cross‑organizational projects.
• Integrate new technologies into projects to drive innovation.
• Mentor and guide junior staff.

We are seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data center routing, switching, and Juniper/ and a proven ability to design, support, troubleshoot, and automate complex network environments.

Job Title: Network Engr+Advanced Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Duration: Contract - 12 months

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for data center networking, including design, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, best practices, and automation.
• Provide primary technical support for break/fix activities and restore services using advanced diagnostics.
• Advise on best practices for Junos configurations and network design.
• Manage and grow relationships with internal teams and partners involved in engineering design and development.
• Review designs and project activities for compliance with standards and provide feedback to improve quality.
• Contribute domain expertise and engineering leadership to cross-organizational projects and programs.
• Integrate new technologies into engineering projects and designs to drive innovation.
• Mentor and guide junior staff members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in data center routing and switching with Juniper technologies, including MX, QFX, PTX, and EX series.
• Experience testing and certifying Junos and Junos EVO features and associated hardware.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to develop test automation and write scripts in Python.

• 6+ years of experience in relevant roles.

Preferred Skills:

• Background in cloud architectures, distributed computing, and microservices.
• Experience with DevOps, security‑first mindset, UX awareness, and full stack development fundamentals.

Education & Travel:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Up to 10% travel to customer sites.
