Job summary

A technology solutions provider is seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to assist with deploying Cisco FIP compliant firewalls in various departments. The ideal candidate must have 6 to 8 years of experience in routing, traffic engineering, and building VPN tunnels with Cisco firewalls. The role involves supporting configuration and validation at multiple sites. Cisco and security certifications are highly desirable, alongside experience with Aruba and F5 technologies.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Applicant will need assistance with deploying Cisco FIP compliant firewalls in various departments within Public Safety and Justice and various quantities.

Duties

• Assist with firewall deployment and configuration at PSJ site(s)
• Assess design criteria to ensure knowledge of desired outcome
• Implement firewalls as agreed to with county network engineers
• Participate in testing and validation of encryption method
• Support and help maintain deployed configurations that have successfully passed testing criteria
• Share any new insights with county network team for future use in deploying this technology

Experience Required

Must have 6 to 8 years of knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:

• Routing and switching
• Building VPN tunnels using Cisco FIPS compliant firewalls (Firepower)
• Traffic engineering
• Data encryption
• Wireless networking technology
• Installing, configuring, testing, and documenting the equipment/network systems

Specifically Versed In Deploying

• Cisco equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Aruba wireless access points and controllers.
• Nice to have working knowledge of Juniper wireless and Mist.
• F5 load balancers experience a plus
• DNS and active directory knowledge a plus

Education Required

• Certification in CCNP Enterprise
• Security certification(s) is highly desirable.
