Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and secure network infrastructure supporting data center operations and facility systems. You will own networks connecting OT platforms like BMS and EPMS, ensuring high availability and robust security.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of enterprise network experience.
  • Experience in data centers or critical facilities environments.
  • Strong TCP/IP and L2/L3 routing/switching knowledge.
  • Experience with security controls, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and support networks and devices (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Provide network engineering support for OT and facility systems (BMS, EPMS, environmental monitoring, access control, surveillance).
  • Monitor network performance, latency, and health to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain security controls protecting data center networks and OT systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships and secure third‑party remote access.
  • Lead incident response for outages or cybersecurity events and assist with containment and recovery.
  • Contribute to change/configuration management and rollback planning for significant network changes.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation and asset inventories.
  • Support compliance reviews, risk assessments, and audit readiness.
  • Travel as required to perform job duties.

Job Description

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, monitoring, and ongoing support of network infrastructure supporting the data center operations and critical facility systems.

This position provides technical ownership and support for networks connecting Operational Technology (OT) and facility management platforms, including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), environmental monitoring, physical access control, surveillance, and other systems necessary for the safe and reliable operation of data center facilities from construction phase through operational phase up to externalCertifications.

Network Engineer works closely with Data Center Construction, Operations, Facilities Management, InformationTechnology, Information Security, engineering teams, customers, vendors, and third-party service providers tomaintain secure, resilient, highly available, and properly documented network environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Engendering Infrastructure
  • Install, configure, administer, and support networks and network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls,wireless infrastructure, VPNs, etc. in support of ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS.
Data Center Operational Technology
  • Provide network engineering and technical support for Operational Technology and facility systems, including:
    • Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
    • Environmental and facility monitoring systems
    • Physical Access Control Systems
    • Video surveillance and security systems
    • Power, cooling, UPS, generator, and related monitoring platformso
    • Data center infrastructure monitoring and management systemso
    • Other network-connected facility and operational equipment
Network Monitoring and Performance
  • Monitor network traffic, bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss, interface errors, device health,environmental conditions to ensure optimal performance, availability, reliability, and minimal downtime.
Network and Operational Technology Security
  • Implement, maintain, and oversee technical security controls protecting data center networks, operationalsystems, infrastructure, and associated data.
  • Support vulnerability management activities involving network and OT systems, including vulnerabilityidentification, risk assessment, remediation planning, patch coordination, and validation.
Vendor and Remote Access Management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, integrators, and service providers.
  • Ensure third-party remote access is appropriately authenticated, authorized, segmented, monitored, and restricted to required systems and services.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting
  • Respond to network outages, performance degradation, cybersecurity events, and other incidents affecting data center operational systems and assist with containment, investigation, recovery, and restoration activities following security incidents.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
  • Participate in the development, implementation, maintenance, and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical network and operational systems.
Change and Configuration Management
  • Develop implementation plans, technical procedures, testing criteria, risk assessments, validation procedures, and rollback plans for significant network changes.
  • Maintain standardized network device configurations and configuration baselines.
Documentation and Asset Management
  • Develop and maintain accurate network architecture and topology diagrams. Ensure emergency networkchanges are documented and reviewed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of network equipment, including manufacturer, model, serial number, location,IP address, firmware version, warranty, and lifecycle status where applicable.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Maintain appropriate records necessary to support troubleshooting, security reviews, complianceassessments, and audits.
  • Assist with technical risk assessments involving new and existing network and operational systems.
  • Document identified risks and participate in developing appropriate remediation or risk-treatment plans.
  • Work with IT Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure new systems and significant changes receive appropriate security review prior to implementation.
Technical Support and Collaboration
  • Serve as a technical resource to provide technical guidance regarding network architecture, connectivity,cybersecurity, and operational requirements for Data Center Construction, Operations, FacilitiesManagement, IT, Information Security, engineering teams, and other teams.
  • Participate in project planning and technical reviews for new data center facilities, expansions, systemreplacements, and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging networking technologies, cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, vendoradvisories, and industry practices relevant to data center and OT environments.
Travel Requirements:
  • There will be travel associated with this position as required to perform the job duties. All business-relatedtravel will be reimbursed per T5’s standard expense guidelines and processes
Skills and Requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • 7-10 years of demonstrated professional experience administering and supporting enterprise network environments
  • At a minimum, the Network Engineer should have
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure within data centers, critical facilities, industrial environments,or other high-availability environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and Layer 2/Layer 3 network architecture.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, andrelated network technologies.
  • Knowledge of network security principles including segmentation, least privilege, secure remote access,authentication, and defense in depth.
  • Experience with network monitoring, logging, configuration management, and troubleshooting tools, syslog,SNMP, NetFlow or similar traffic analysis technologies.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, configuration hardening, security monitoring, and incidentresponse.
  • Experience working within formal change management, configuration management, and incidentmanagement processes.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks or standards applicable to enterprise and Operational Technologyenvironments.
  • Familiarity with API calls and implementation standards and AI communication principles.

Salary -160-175K with Bonus
