The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
The Senior Network Design Engineer is a key technical role within the Network Services organization, responsible for designing, engineering, and planning the implementation of enterprise network solutions in a large-scale, regulated financial-services environment. This hands‑on role partners closely with architecture, operations, security, cloud, application, managed services, vendor, and business teams to translate business, application, risk, audit, security, compliance, and operational needs into resilient, scalable, supportable, and cost‑effective network designs. The scope includes data center, cloud connectivity, WAN, SD‑WAN, SD‑LAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi, voice, internet, extranet, DDI, load balancing, firewall integration, VoIP, observability, automation, and emerging network technologies. The engineer will also develop design packages, reference architectures, scopes of work, implementation plans, change‑readiness materials, risk reviews, rollback assessments, and operational handoff documentation to support successful delivery and long‑term operational stability.
Design, Delivery & Governance: Assess business, application, security, compliance, and operational requirements; identify practical network solutions; and prepare recommendations supported by feasibility, risk, cost, benefit, CapEx, OpEx, lifecycle, and supportability analysis.
Develop and execute design‑to‑deployment plans that meet scope, schedule, cost, quality, resiliency, change‑control, implementation sequencing, rollback, compliance, and operational‑readiness requirements.
Assess, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues using industry‑standard tools and methods, including packet analysis, flow analysis, telemetry, configuration‑drift reporting, monitoring dashboards, fault‑domain isolation, RCA practices, and NetScout.
Develop processes, standards, diagrams, and documentation that support design execution, operational readiness, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.
Leadership & Collaboration: Provide technical leadership for network design and delivery by guiding engineering decisions, coordinating implementation teams, resolving technical blockers, validating design assumptions, and ensuring solutions aligning with enterprise architecture, information security, audit, regulatory compliance, service reliability, vendor governance, and business objectives.
Build strong partnerships across the organization and with vendor partners, collaborating with peers, leaders, managed services providers, IT Security, Technology Risk, and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
Mentor team members, build technical capability, foster a collaborative team environment, and communicate clearly through strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Champion innovation lead change, and support continuous improvement across network design, delivery, operations, managed services, capacity planning, resiliency, service reliability, vendor performance, cost optimization, and operational controls.
Manage multiple large, complex, and concurrent projects while applying agile delivery practices, project management fundamentals, attention to detail, research skills, and strong execution discipline.
Lead small to mid‑size technical delivery teams through design reviews, implementation planning, peer reviews, change preparation, testing, cutover coordination, operational acceptance, and post‑implementation validation.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $151,000 to $176,000 at the commencement of employment for the Jersey City, NJ area. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Corebridge also offers a range of competitive benefits as part of the total compensation package, as detailed below.
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely. Estimated Travel May include up to 25%.
