Job summary

LBJ Infrastructure Group seeks a Senior Network and Cyber Engineer to design, secure, and optimize its hybrid IT/OT networks supporting NCS, ITS, and data center operations.

You will lead cybersecurity governance, vulnerability management, and continuous improvements while ensuring reliability across field systems and tolling platforms. Strong Fortinet expertise and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Network Engineering, or Cybersecurity required.
• Advanced network engineering knowledge (routing, switching, VPNs, BGP/OSPF).
• Strong cybersecurity expertise including vulnerability and incident management.
• Experience with Fortinet technologies and network monitoring tools is preferred.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure networks across data center, field, and hybrid environments.
• Lead network modernization and segmentation efforts to improve resiliency.
• Ensure integration across field systems, tolling platforms, back-office systems, and cloud services.
• Lead cybersecurity audits, governance, and incident response programs.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot routing/switching/firewalls/VPNs, and maintain SLA/KPI adherence.
• Maintain Fortinet ecosystem (FortiGate/Manager/Analyzer) and secure segmentation.
• Document network architecture and CMDB using NetBox; support audit readiness.
