Job summary

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, seeks a senior network automation engineer to design, build, and operate software that automates the network lifecycle from data centers to GPU clusters. You will develop zero-touch deployment, config-as-code pipelines, and scalable tooling, while collaborating across networks, DC ops, and platform teams.

You should have 6+ years of production software experience, strong Linux and API design skills, and a track record mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Write production-quality code with deep expertise in multiple languages.
• Have built automation or infrastructure tooling used by other engineers.
• Solid grasp of distributed systems design, including API design and data modeling.
• Follow strong engineering practices: code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and git workflows.
• Comfortable on the Linux command line and with core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, IP routing).
• Led technical projects end to end and mentored other engineers.
• Communicate clearly with software engineers, network engineers, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate software that automates Lambda's network lifecycle from data centers to production.
• Build provisioning and zero-touch deployment systems for GPU clusters with minimal manual work.
• Develop pipelines that generate, validate, and deploy network configuration as code with automated testing and safe rollbacks.
• Create capacity planning tools using inventory, topology, and utilization data to forecast needs as Lambda grows.
• Keep live network state in sync by integrating automation with source-of-truth, inventory, and IPAM systems.
• Create APIs, services, and CLIs for network resources used by engineers and other teams.
• Instrument systems with metrics, logging, and alerting to improve reliability and speed.
• Partner with Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, and platform teams to automate runbooks.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for automation systems and tooling.
