Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Network Engineer (CCNP level) to design, implement, and support an enterprise-scale network infrastructure in Cork on a 6+ month contract. The role emphasizes routing, switching, wireless technologies, and automation to improve reliability and efficiency.

You will work across multiple teams to architect and troubleshoot complex networks, integrate automation practices, and contribute to infrastructure initiatives in a demanding enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Network Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven ability to work in complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
• Deploy and support Wireless Access Points and Wireless Controllers.
• Design and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking solutions across campus and data center environments.
• Develop and implement network automation solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and orchestration tools.
• Monitor, optimize, and enhance network performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues and perform detailed root cause analysis.
• Support network integration, migration, and deployment projects.
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Participate in change management, incident response, and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams across multiple initiatives.
