Job summary

BlackCube Labs is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer in Chandler, AZ, offering a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) on a 12+ month contract. The role requires 7+ years in senior network engineering/architecture and hands-on automation with Python, Ansible, and Terraform.

The engineer will drive CI/CD pipelines, design scalable automation solutions, and lead security architecture discussions while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with DevOps and software teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in senior network engineering/architecture roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and Linux administration.
• Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRFs).
• Hands-on experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Familiarity with SDN technologies (Arista CVP, Cisco ACI/SDN).

Responsibilities

• Automate network tasks and workflows using Python, Linux, Ansible, and shell scripting.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Terraform, Infrastructure as Code).
• Design, test, and implement network automation strategies for configuration, monitoring, and management.
• Lead and participate in code reviews, providing technical feedback.
• Collaborate with DevOps, network engineers, and software developers to streamline operations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.

• Role: Senior Network Automation Engineer (Wired Network Engineer focus)
• Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced certifications (CCIE, JNCIE)
• Experience with Arista ACE Level 5+ or Cisco DevNet S/P/E
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Nautobot)
• Experience with network security and security architecture

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

Other:

• Local Chandler, AZ candidates strongly preferred
• Minimum 3 days onsite per week required
• Strong interpersonal skills and proactive attitude necessary for cross-functional teamwork
