Job summary

Legato, LLC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex enterprise networks at Fort Meade, MD. The role focuses on SDN, NSX integration, and hybrid-cloud solutions, with a 90–120 day discovery and documentation period.

The candidate will develop network diagrams, assess policies, and close gaps in ACLs, segmentation, and routing while supporting ongoing upgrades and performance optimization. TS/SCI w/ Poly is required.

Qualifications

• Ten years of professional experience providing Network Engineering support.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering or related.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related, plus 2 years of Network Engineering experience may substitute for master's.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed network diagrams, technical documentation, network configurations, and architecture documentation.
• Experience designing, implementing, administering, maintaining, and upgrading enterprise network infrastructure.
• Experience with LAN, CAN, WAN administration, including network conversions, cutovers, and modernization.
• Experience with network policies, ACLs, segmentation, and routing.
• Experience analyzing system and network requirements and translating them into designs and implementation plans.
• Active IAT Level II / DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as Security+.

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
• Develop network diagrams and document configurations and connectivity.
• Support SDN architecture and VMware NSX environments.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and other teams to implement scalable, secure networks.
