Job summary

Cetera Financial Group seeks a Principal Network Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise network architecture across on-prem, data center, branch offices and multi-cloud environments. You will design, implement and operate highly available, secure networks in AWS, Azure and private data centers.

Responsibilities include leading complex projects, driving automation, and mentoring teams while ensuring 24/7 network availability and security alignment with governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive network engineering in large enterprises.
• 5+ years with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, AWS and Azure networking.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
• CCNP certification or equivalent routing/switching experience.
• Experience designing highly available hybrid/multi-cloud networks.
• Strong TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VPN knowledge.
• Experience with Palo Alto GlobalProtect and Cisco platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support WAN/LANs including SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, cloud connectivity.
• Lead network modernization across on‑prem, data center and multi-cloud environments.
• Provide incident response, root cause analysis and post-mortems.
• Drive automation via APIs and IaC, and maintain runbooks and diagrams.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across onshore/offshore teams.
