Job summary

Nightwing is searching for a mission-driven Senior Network Architect to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing complex, large-scale network topologies and supporting enterprise modernization efforts, including hybrid cloud integrations.

Responsibilities include leading the network architecture strategy and designing scalable network solutions. Applicants must have TS/SCI with Polygraph and a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, along with substantial experience in network design. We’re looking for a mission-driven Senior Network Architect who thrives in high-security environments and brings deep experience designing complex, large-scale network topologies. This role will support enterprise modernization efforts, including hybrid cloud integrations, secure transport layer design, and evolving infrastructure in line with agency-driven standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end network architecture strategy across multi-domain environments
• Design resilient, scalable network solutions integrating on-prem and cloud-native platforms
• Align network infrastructure with enterprise modernization and security mandates
• Provide technical oversight through planning and implementation
• Shape future-state network evolution, including hybrid and virtual transitions
• Subject matter expert for business development / proposal efforts
  
  

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science)
• 10+ years of experience in network design, including WAN, LAN, and hybrid cloud integrations
• Deep understanding of routing/switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), network segmentation, and encrypted transport mechanisms
• Strong experience with enterprise-grade gear (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto) and familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) solutions
• Prior exposure to secure agency environments, including comfort working with mission-specific tools and infrastructure
• Desired, but not required, experience with Nutanix solutions
  
  

Preferred Certs: CCIE, CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent
