Job summary

Purdue University Institute of CHIPS and AI is looking for a senior-level network engineer responsible for architecting, testing, supporting, and maintaining the University’s networks and security devices. The incumbent will lead design and implementation, provide documentation, and mentor junior staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, four years of experience in network engineering, and relevant certifications. A substantial benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in network engineering and deploying solutions for LAN, WAN, and Wireless networks.
• Deep understanding of project management including planning and documentation.
• Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead network design and implementation for campus network infrastructure.
• Provide documentation for projects and processes.
• Coach less experienced network administrators and engineers.

Skills

In-depth technical knowledge of networking technologies

CCNP/CCDP certification

Understanding of network routing protocols

Project management skills

Verbal and written communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, networking, engineering, IT, or a related field
