Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Network Architect to lead the design and development of our global connectivity platform. You will push automation, observability, and reliability initiatives across engineering teams.

In this role, you will architect scalable infrastructure, mentor teams, and drive modern software practices. You will collaborate across departments to ensure secure, efficient edge and cloud-native solutions for a global audience.

Qualifications

15 years of relevant experience and a BS in CS/CE or related field
10+ years of experience in network and software engineering
Expert proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes and Source of Truth platforms
Thrive in a rapidly changing environment with agility
Proven expertise in large-scale IP routing and network fabric architectures
Experience designing cloud-native infrastructure, container orchestration, and IaC deployment frameworks

Responsibilities

Lead architectural design and development for Akamai's global connectivity platform
Drive software-defined automation to reduce toil and improve reliability
Establish telemetry and observability stacks for real-time network monitoring
Champion software engineering best practices, CI/CD, and SDLC standards
Steer capacity planning and cost optimization across distributed routing and edge systems
