We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to assess, design, and optimize a complex enterprise network environment involving Cisco and VeloCloud technologies. The ideal candidate will independently evaluate existing network architecture, identify critical technical and operational risks, define a scalable target architecture, and develop a practical transformation roadmap.
This role requires deep expertise in enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center networking, SD-WAN, network security, and hybrid cloud connectivity. The successful candidate must be able to translate complex technical findings into actionable recommendations and communicate architectural risks and business impacts to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Network Assessment
- Assess the current-state enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center, and hybrid cloud connectivity architecture.
- Evaluate Cisco enterprise switches, wireless access points, and network infrastructure.
- Review core, distribution, and access-layer architecture, topology, and network segmentation.
- Assess routing, switching, redundancy, convergence, and failover mechanisms.
- Evaluate MPLS, internet connectivity, VPNs, SD-WAN, and hybrid network connectivity.
- Identify architectural gaps, technical debt, dependencies, and operational risks.
2. SD-WAN and Network Architecture
- Assess existing Cisco and VeloCloud SD-WAN environments.
- Evaluate SD-WAN architecture, design, performance, resiliency, and scalability.
- Review Cisco ACI, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and enterprise network integration.
- Assess network security solutions, including Cisco edge network security technologies.
- Evaluate network segmentation, trust boundaries, firewalls, and IDS/IPS integration.
- Develop conceptual future-state architecture designs aligned with business and technical requirements.
3. Network Resiliency and Performance
- Identify physical and logical single points of failure involving network devices, circuits, power, and connectivity paths.
- Evaluate network availability, redundancy, disaster recovery readiness, and failover capabilities.
- Assess network performance, capacity, scalability, and future infrastructure requirements.
- Review wireless network coverage, capacity, resiliency, and scalability.
- Evaluate DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) services and their dependencies.
