Job summary

Reqroute, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to independently assess complex Cisco and VeloCloud network environments, identify architectural risks, define target-state architecture, and develop actionable network transformation roadmaps.

The ideal candidate will translate technical findings into business risks, operational impacts, and strategic recommendations for engineering teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating and architecting enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN, data center, and hybrid/cloud connectivity.
• Hands-on architecture experience with Cisco switches and wireless access points.
• Experience evaluating and designing VeloCloud SD-WAN architectures and implementations.
• Ability to review core, distribution, access-layer topology, segmentation, and convergence.

Responsibilities

• Assess enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center and hybrid connectivity environments.
• Evaluate network security architecture including firewalls, segmentation, and IDS/IPS integration.
• Review DNS, DHCP, IPAM services and network dependencies.
• Develop current-state and target-state network architecture diagrams.
• Create roadmaps with prioritized network transformation initiatives.
• Present findings and risk assessments to executives and stakeholders.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will possess strong enterprise networking architecture expertise and the ability to translate technical findings into business risks, operational impacts, and strategic recommendations for engineering teams and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture Assessment

• Assess existing enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center, and hybrid/cloud connectivity environments.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on architecture experience with Cisco enterprise switches and wireless access points.
• Evaluate VeloCloud SD-WAN architecture, design, and implementation.
• Review core, distribution, and access-layer architecture, network topology, and segmentation.
• Assess routing, switching, redundancy, network convergence, and failover mechanisms.
• Evaluate MPLS, Internet, VPN, SD-WAN, and hybrid connectivity architectures.
• Review wireless network architecture for coverage, capacity, resiliency, and scalability.
• Assess network security architecture, including segmentation, trust boundaries, firewalls, and IDS/IPS integration.
• Review DNS, DHCP, IPAM services, and associated network dependencies.

Risk, Performance & Operational Assessment

• Identify physical and logical single points of failure across network devices, circuits, power, and connectivity paths.
• Evaluate overall network availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Assess network performance, capacity, and future scalability requirements.
• Evaluate operational maturity across monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
• Review alert fatigue, incident response readiness, and network troubleshooting processes.
• Assess configuration management, change control, and network documentation practices.
• Identify architectural gaps, technical debt, operational risks, and infrastructure constraints.

Target Architecture & Transformation Roadmap

• Develop current-state and conceptual future-state network architecture diagrams.
• Define target architecture principles focused on resiliency, simplicity, security, automation, and scalability.
• Recommend practical architecture improvements based on business impact, risk, complexity, and dependencies.
• Develop prioritized network transformation and remediation roadmaps with high-level implementation phases.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions and architecture workshops with customer stakeholders.

Documentation & Stakeholder Communication

• Prepare comprehensive Enterprise Network Assessment Reports and Gap Analysis documentation.
• Present key findings, architectural risks, and recommendations to executive-level stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical findings into business risks, operational impacts, and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and customer stakeholders to align on architecture strategy and transformation priorities.

Required Certifications

• CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise certification preferred.
• Equivalent enterprise networking architecture expertise will also be considered.
