Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an SME Network Administrator to serve as the technical authority for highly secure network infrastructure supporting a USCG program. The role is based in Alexandria, VA, with a hybrid work arrangement and emphasis on compliance with federal standards.

You will administer NIPRNet/SIPRNet networks, harden devices per STIGs/RMF, and contribute to accreditation artifacts and continuous security monitoring for mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required.
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience with 8+ years of IT/network experience.
• Expert-level Cisco router/switch/firewall experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on TACLANE experience and GEM management console use.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NIPRNet and SIPRNet infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, TACLANEs, and ensure DoD/DISA security standards compliance.
• Implement security configurations and hardening per STIGs and RMF requirements.
• Review vulnerability scans (ACAS/SCAP), analyze findings and remediate issues to maintain accreditation.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including architecture diagrams and change records.
• Support RMF lifecycle activities by preparing and updating SSPs, POA&Ms, and eMASS entries.
• Monitor performance and security alerts; troubleshoot in classified environments.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams, system engineers, and leadership to align resources with mission needs.
• Participate in technical reviews and change control boards with design and security posture recommendations.
• Stay current with DoD cybersecurity mandates and best practices for classified networks.
