Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to act as the technical authority for secure, high-security network infrastructure supporting a U.S. Coast Guard program in Alexandria, VA.

The role is hybrid, focusing on administering, maintaining, and hardening classified networks to ensure readiness and compliance with federal standards. The candidate will lead security configurations, RMF artifacts, vulnerability remediation, and network documentation while collaborating with cybersecurity

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required.
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience with 8 years of experience.
• Expert-level experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on TACLANEs and GEM management console experience.
• Strong knowledge of DoD STIGs, RMF processes, and DISA standards.
• Proven ability to lead network hardening, vulnerability remediation, and accreditation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NIPRNet and SIPRNet infrastructure.
• Implement security configurations and hardening per STIGs and RMF.
• Review vulnerability scans and remediate issues to maintain accreditation.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change records.
• Prepare accreditation artifacts such as SSPs, POA&Ms, and eMASS entries.
• Monitor performance and security alerts; troubleshoot classified environments.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and leadership to align resources with mission needs.
• Stay current with emerging DoD cybersecurity mandates and best practices.
