Job Summary

Provides leadership and support to ensure the corporate IT network infrastructure remains secure, available, and reliable. The senior network administrator is ultimately responsible for managing network use, providing a high-level overview of IT needs, and working closely with team members to maintain computer networks, monitor network availability, and conduct audits to enhance security and reliability. Reports to the Vice President of Technology Management.

Primary Duties

  1. Develop and maintain the backend network infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, cabling, and UPS backup systems.
  2. Maintain system integrity through active monitoring of error logs and user-reported issues. Conduct regular audits to ensure performance, security, and availability standards are met.
  3. Improve system performance by deploying enhancements and developing proposals for infrastructure improvements.
  4. Manage connectivity between sites, monitor bandwidth and data usage, and work with ISPs to optimize performance.
  5. Oversee backups for all systems, manage disaster recovery exercises, and ensure data integrity.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Install patches, service packs, hot fixes, and upgrades for network servers; test and maintain hardware and software.
  2. Assist with CMMC review and implementation of security measures.
  3. Oversee updates to workstations, laptops, and servers; monitor server logs; manage backups and testing procedures.
  4. Manage network connectivity, including VPNs and remote desktop connections; recommend infrastructure improvements.
  5. Develop project plans for infrastructure changes.
  6. Research and evaluate new technologies.
  7. Coordinate software deployment and maintain network infrastructure.
  8. Support network users, act as escalation point, and perform other duties as assigned.
  9. Negotiate with vendors and analyze network utilization statistics.
  10. Engage in ongoing training on new technologies and security issues.
  11. Travel locally and out of state as required.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • A+ certification and MCSE preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Extensive experience with network design, installation, and support.
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers, CISCO networking, VMware, Office365, and related technologies.
  • Willingness to visit all affiliate sites as needed.
Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, reaching, talking, occasional walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
