The ideal candidate will bring strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking, Fortinet firewalls, Azure/AWS networking, F5 load balancing, and enterprise routing protocols. This is a senior‑level position that combines approximately 50% hands‑on technical work and 50% analysis/project responsibilities, including leading initiatives and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and support enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure across multiple corporate locations and data center environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, VPN technologies, and other network services.
  • Monitor network availability, capacity, and performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents and coordinate internal or vendor resources through resolution when necessary.
  • Support Cisco‑based network infrastructure, including Nexus switching, routing, wireless technologies, and Cisco ISE.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and related network security technologies.
  • Support cloud networking infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Manage and support F5 BIG‑IP load balancers, including advanced functionality such as web application firewall capabilities.
  • Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
  • Assist with the evaluation and implementation of emerging networking technologies, including Cisco Meraki and Juniper solutions.
  • Gather technical and business requirements and translate them into effective network solutions and system designs.
  • Analyze network traffic, system dependencies, and data flows to support infrastructure planning and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and contribute to network projects, including planning, testing, implementation, documentation, risk management, and knowledge transfer.
  • Coordinate network upgrades, hardware refreshes, lifecycle management, and replacement of legacy equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate network access controls and security standards.
  • Support disaster recovery and network restoration efforts following infrastructure outages or failures.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Provide escalation support for complex issues that cannot be resolved by Help Desk or junior technical resources.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical direction during projects and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Lead assigned project work and coordinate or delegate technical activities as appropriate.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve network performance, reliability, security, or operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • 4–6+ years of enterprise networking experience in a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar infrastructure role.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and ideally Nexus and ISE.
  • Experience administering Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
  • Experience supporting cloud networking within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Experience with F5 BIG‑IP load balancing technologies; exposure to WAF functionality is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, connectivity, security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network environments spanning multiple locations and/or data centers.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues and coordinate with vendors when escalation is required.
  • Experience leading or contributing to infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Self‑directed and comfortable taking ownership of technical initiatives.
  • Ability to balance hands‑on technical responsibilities with analysis and project‑based work.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Knowledge of Ansible or other network automation technologies is a plus.
