Job summary

C Spire is seeking a Senior .NET Engineer to design, develop, modernize, and support enterprise applications powering core business operations. You will work with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions and drive modernization across our systems landscape.

You will lead the lifecycle from requirements to deployment, build REST APIs, and help mentor peers while advancing technical leadership within the Tools and Automation team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive professional experience developing enterprise applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and enterprise design patterns.
• Advanced SQL Server experience, including schema design, query development, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating enterprise applications across distributed environments.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Working knowledge of Linux operating environments and modern deployment strategies.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills; capable of working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications built on C#, .NET Framework, and modern .NET platforms.
• Lead and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Develop and maintain SQL Server data structures, queries, and integrations.
• Support modernization of enterprise apps through containerization and cloud-native approaches.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Apply best practices, patterns, and coding standards for maintainable software.
• Identify technical debt, prioritize remediation, and improve performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
• Mentor other developers and share knowledge to improve delivery.
