Job summary

Under general supervision, designs, develops, and maintains computer systems for various departments of Hamilton County Government to ensure accurate informational processes and reports, may serve in a lead role.

This departmental promotional opportunity requires current Hamilton County IT staff and offers a chance to lead critical government software projects, using .NET technologies, SQL Server, and modern development practices to support county operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science plus five years of programming and systems design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science plus seven years of programming and systems design experience.
• Equivalent of a high school diploma and nine years of programming and systems design experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical resource responsible for developing reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions; analyzing complex business and technical requirements; troubleshooting production issues; and providing technical guidance on architecture and standards.
• Work with IT staff, department personnel, end users, vendors, and stakeholders to develop and maintain applications that support critical government operations.
• Lead or collaborate on design and implementation of applications to ensure accuracy of informational processes and reports.
• May serve in a lead role and provide technical guidance on development standards.
