Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Non-Destructive Inspection Technician (NDI) III to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using NDT methods and to perform related fluid analysis.

The role requires NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189 qualification, 3+ years aviation inspection experience, and the ability to pass a respirator physical. US citizenship is required for facility credentials and authorization.

Qualifications

• Shall be trained and qualified per NAS 410 or ASNT-CP-189.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience as an aviation inspector.
• Familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified.
• Familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
• Must pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship required for a facility credentials/authorization at the work location.

Responsibilities

• Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.
• Detects flaws using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment.
• Interprets NDT results and provides information about defects to repair center.
• Reviews x-rays and analyzes wear metal content reports.
• Establishes radiation areas for radiographic operations.
• Ensures lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment.
• Provides guidance to trainers and Level I and II personnel in the method certified.
