Peraton is hiring a Senior Naval Structures Modeling Engineer for an onsite role at NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD, to support the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team. You will apply FEM/FEA tools to model, mesh, and analyze naval structures and assist government SMEs with results interpretation.

The role requires DoD SECRET clearance and hands-on experience with COMSOL, ANSYS, or Abaqus, plus a BS with 5 years (MS with 3 years).

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with finite element modeling and defining meshes of complex structures.
• Experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus.
• DoD SECRET Clearance.
• Experience in FEM/FEA related research.

Responsibilities

• Support the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division.
• Work with FEM/FEA tools to support acoustics research.
• Generate and test FEM model meshes of complex Naval structures using commercial FEM tools.
• Run FEA tools, generate results, and assist Government SMEs in analysis of the results.
• Communicate with multiple teams, set priorities, and deliver results per schedule.
