Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Naval Structures Modeling Engineer to perform research within the US Navy's Structural Acoustics program at NSWC Carderock Division. The role focuses on FEM/FEA of complex naval structures using industry-standard software to support acoustics research for Navy platforms.

The candidate will generate analysis results, run FEA tools, and collaborate with Government SMEs across multiple projects in a government-contractor team. A DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' experience with a BS/BA.
• Minimum 6 years' experience with an MS/MA.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with a PhD.
• Experience performing research into FEM/FEA on complex structures.
• Experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus.

Responsibilities

• Perform research as part of the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division.
• Use FEM/FEA tools to support acoustics research on Navy platforms.
• Work with commercial FEM tools to mesh complex naval structures and run analyses.
• Generate results from FEA runs and assist Government SMEs in analysis.
