Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to support multiple Navy programs and lead technical integration with Navy stakeholders. The role involves developing structural specifications and analyzing damage tolerance, durability, and loads for metals, non-metals, or composites.

The candidate will work with FEMAP, Autodesk NASTRAN, ShipConstructor, and AutoCAD, driving innovative solutions and complex problem solving.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university with 14 years of experience.
Master of Science in Engineering from ABET accredited university with 12 years of experience.
PhD in Engineering from ABET accredited university with 9 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metallic, or composite materials.
Lead technical integration activities with Navy stakeholders on advanced structural projects.
Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling.
Utilize tools such as FEMAP, Autodesk NASTRAN, ShipConstructor, and AutoCAD.
