Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs in IT, testing, engineering, analysis, and training. The next Systems Administrator will support NAVAIR and collaborate on mission-critical solutions for naval aviation and defense operations.

Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining physical/virtual infrastructure, implementing backups, managing access, and ensuring system security per DoD guidance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret (interim to start). Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• RMF compliance experience preferred (scanning and STIG execution).
• CompTIA Sec+ requirement.
• Windows or Linux OS certification.
• ACAS Operator and Supervisor Course completion preferred (within 3 year active window).
• At least 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facilities.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers/workstations.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain documentation.
• Provide customer support and best-practices guidance.
• Secure information systems per DoD guidance and maintain security posture.
