Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, technical, and regulatory guidance to Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) across New Mexico.
• Deliver comprehensive support to approximately 11 of the state’s 47 SWCDs, offering tailored technical assistance.
• Ensure compliance with statutes/regulatory requirements (IPRA, OMA, Audit Act, State Procurement Code, per diem and mileage regulations).
• Coordinate with a broad network of stakeholders (federal, state, local, tribal, NGOs, elected officials, public) to align local conservation with statewide initiatives.
