Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Natural Resources Manager to oversee the Recreation and Park Department's Natural Resources Division. You will supervise staff, implement management plans, and coordinate with City agencies and communities to conserve and restore urban natural areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Earth Science or related field is required.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in conservation and management of natural ecosystems, native plant communities and wildlife habitat is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee conservation and restoration of San Francisco's remnant natural areas to promote biodiversity and resiliency.
  • Implement the Natural Resources Management Plan to guide actions and projects.
  • Supervise division staff pursuing conservation, restoration, and IPM programs.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide policy guidance and coordinate with City agencies and community groups.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Earth Science or related field
