Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Downtown Chicago office is seeking a Natural Gas Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the team. This role emphasizes leading pipeline and facility design across multiple disciplines and coordinating with clients.

The position requires a PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months, an ABET-accredited degree, and experience with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8. On-site in Chicago with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required (B.S. or M.S.) in Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil or related field.
• P.E. license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design efforts with Civil/Structural, Electrical, I&C disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership for natural gas pipeline and facility engineering.
• Design pipeline facilities such as metering/regulating and compressor stations.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, plans, sections, details, and BOMs.
• Perform engineering calculations for studies, reports, and design decisions.
• Coordinate surveying, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
• Prepare material/equipment specifications for procurement and FAT.
• Lead proposal development, scope definition, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Experience in design of electric transmission lines and/or distribution systems.
