Project Manager for Asset Integrity Capital Maintenance

The Project Manager for Asset Integrity Capital Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing and executing critical projects to ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of our natural gas pipeline infrastructure. This role involves planning, scheduling, and managing projects related to In-Line Inspection (ILI) assessment remediation and cathodic protection system upgrades. The position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail to coordinate effectively with engineers, operations personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
  2. Develop project scope, schedule, and budget; lead and guide project teams.
  3. Incorporate economic, operational, and environmental factors into project plans.
  4. Adhere to standards including Project Life Cycle and System Integrity Plan.
  5. Create detailed project plans covering land acquisition, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and risk management.
  6. Negotiate contracts and manage external resources for project success.
  7. Coordinate with internal and external experts on land, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and startup issues.
  8. Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders.

Skills:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  3. Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  4. Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and distribution techniques.
  5. Understanding of strategic planning, resource allocation, and management principles.
  6. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc.

Typical daily tasks include budgeting, forecasting, estimating, scheduling, and supporting all project lifecycle activities.

  • Must have direct project management experience with large-diameter pipeline projects.
  • 8-10 years of industry experience in Oil & Gas, Midstream, Natural Gas Transmission (onshore), not upstream/downstream or offshore.
  • 4-5 years recent experience supporting transmission asset integrity projects (dig remediation and/or cathodic protection system remediation).
  • Experience working for an oil and gas, pipeline, or midstream owner/operator; construction or commercial project managers are not suitable.
  • Good tenure is required.
