Job summary

Opella is seeking a Senior Director NA Brand R&D Lead to shape product development for North America Allergy and Sleep brands. You will translate scientific insights into consumer-facing products, lead a diverse innovation portfolio, and partner with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and Medical to deliver growth and successful launches.

You will mentor teams, drive sustainability and access initiatives, and help build a culture of bold, collaborative innovation across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of R&D leadership experience delivering consumer health products.
• Experience translating science to consumer brands and influencing across functions.

Responsibilities

• Define R&D strategy for Opella’s brands.
• Lead the NA Allergy and Sleep brands innovation pipeline (1–5 years).
• Drive end-to-end product development, formulations, claims, and packaging innovations.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and Medical to launch products on time.
• Develop and execute patent strategies; leverage external partnerships.
• Collaborate with Development, Packaging, Finance, Regulatory, and others to build business cases.
• Prioritize base business protection while ensuring quality and supply continuity.
• Inspire cross-functional teams and drive accountability to meet objectives.
