Job summary

Zafhires is seeking a Senior n8n Automation Engineer in New York to design, build, and operate AI-powered workflow systems supporting engineering, customer success, finance, and leadership operations.

About the job Senior n8n Automation Engineer

Role Overview

Were looking for a Senior n8n Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate AI-powered workflow systems that support engineering, customer success, finance, and leadership operations.

You'll partner closely with the CTO to create durable automations and AI agent systems that eliminate manual processes, improve efficiency, and increase organizational leverage.

This is a high-trust, high-ownership role—not an administrative one. The goal is to automate and eliminate repetitive work through thoughtful engineering.

Core Responsibilities

1. Automation & AI Systems (Primary)

• Build and maintain production-grade n8n workflows such as:
• Slack and Support automations (bug triage, customer query handling)
• Customer engagement workflows (usage-based triggers, reactivation emails)
• Reporting systems (engineering metrics, market intel, and finance summaries)
• Billing and finance workflows (Stripe triggers, churn alerts, anomaly detection)
• Design and integrate Claude-powered code and operations agents
• Use Claude for bug analysis, postmortem drafting, and internal tooling
• Integrate Claude agents into n8n workflows with guardrails, validation, and observability

3. Workflow Reliability & Maintenance

• Own automation health end-to-end
• Implement logging, retries, and alerting
• Continually refine automation performance and maintainability

4. CTO Operations Support (Secondary)

• Automate scheduling and coordination with customers, contractors, and partners
• Manage onboarding/offboarding processes (access, tools, triggers)

5. Referral & Growth Automation

• Build and manage referral automation systems within CRM and reporting tools
• What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
• Claude agents reliably operating within workflows
• Full observability into automation health and ROI metrics
• Established as a trusted operational partner to the CTO

Ideal Background

• Senior experience with n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar orchestration tools
• Proven ability building LLM-integrated systems, preferably using Claude
• Track record integrating automation into production environments (not POCs)
• Strong documentation, debugging, and systems thinking skills
• Independent, proactive, and excellent at clear communication

Compensation & Growth

• Salary: Based on candidate experience and expectations (Philippines - Senior level)
• Bonus: Performance-based bonus tied to automation outcomes
