Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber seeks a Senior Municipal Water & Wastewater Engineering Project Manager in Ohio to lead design and planning for water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, and manage municipal projects from concept to completion.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, 8+ years in utility design, a PE license (Ohio preferred), and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Travel across Ohio project sites is expected; hybrid schedules are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 8+ years of utility design experience
• Registered Professional Engineer (Ohio license preferred) or ability to obtain Ohio license within six months
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel to project sites within Ohio

Responsibilities

• Lead design and planning for water mains and sanitary and storm sewer projects
• Prepare utility master plans, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering reports
• Develop design documents and specifications for bidding
• Submit construction permits to regulatory agencies
• Manage municipal utility projects from concept to completion
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients and ensure satisfaction
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Fishbeck offices
• Support proposal development and qualifications submissions
• Engage daily with project teams in a multi-discipline environment

Location: Cincinnati, OH, Dayton, OH, Columbus, OH

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working with our Municipal Engineering team, you will work on a variety of Water, Wastewater and Municipal projects and work with our team of multidisciplinary professionals.

What You'll Do

• Lead design and planning for water mains and sanitary and storm sewer projects.
• Prepare utility master plans, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering reports.
• Develop design documents and specifications for bidding.
• Submit construction permits to regulatory agencies.
• Manage municipal utility projects from concept to completion.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and clear communication.
• Collaborate with technical staff across Fishbeck offices to deliver integrated engineering services.
• Support proposal development and participate in qualifications submissions.
• Engage daily with project teams in a multi-discipline, multi-office environment.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in utility design.
• Registered Professional Engineer. (Ohio PE license preferred. Candidates with a PE license in another state must be able to obtain Ohio licensure within six months of hire.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project and client sites within Ohio as needed.
