Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Toledo, OH seeks a Project Engineer to lead municipal design efforts for utilities, roads, and stormwater. You’ll collaborate with project managers, designers, and clients to deliver high‑quality infrastructure while growing technical and leadership skills.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, 5+ years in related field, EIT certification, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for site layouts from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering is required.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience, preferably with municipal projects is required.
• EIT certification required; Professional Engineer license or working towards licensure is preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.

Responsibilities

• Design municipal projects using Civil 3D to complete site, grading, drainage, and stormwater projects within budgets and deadlines.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedule assignments.
• Assist with proposal development for professional services.
• Coordinate with public and private utilities, as well as other disciplines.
• Perform and review hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare and review cost estimates for accuracy and completeness of scope.
• Assist Project Manager with tracking project budget and schedules.
• Attend meetings with municipal stakeholders and present components of assignments.
• Perform field investigations/site visits, as needed.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with project managers, designers, and municipal clients to bring critical infrastructure projects to life — from utility systems and roadway improvements to stormwater solutions and beyond. • EIT (Engineer-In-Training) certification required; Professional Engineer license or working towards licensure is preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
• Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
