Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Municipal Project Manager to lead civil engineering, site development and municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction. This role is based in the Toledo, OH office, contributing to meaningful projects across Ohio and the surrounding region.

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio, and 10+ years of civil

Qualifications

  • Active Ohio PE license required.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience in site development or municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction.
  • Serve as primary contact for clients, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Lead project teams across multiple offices.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, budget and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards and permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Review plans, specs, and reports for quality and compliance.
  • Support site development and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to growth of the Toledo office.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio required.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on site development and/or municipal infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing civil engineering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with Ohio permitting processes, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Interest in contributing to the continued growth of the firm's Toledo and surrounding Ohio markets.
