Job summary

The Village of Westmont is seeking a Deputy Finance Director to lead the Accounting Division’s daily operations and safeguard the Village’s financial integrity through expert reporting and strategic budgeting.

The role partners with the Finance Director to guide short- and long-term financial decisions, supervise payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger activities, and prepare reliable financial reports for the Village and Library.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting and financial reporting background with supervisory experience.
• Ability to translate complex financial information for all levels of the organization.
• Experience with ERP systems and standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Ensure compliance and timely reporting for the Village of Westmont and Westmont Public Library.
• Manage investments and contribute to the Village’s financial strategy and forecasting.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director and other departments to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
• Engage with staff and elected officials to communicate financial information effectively.
