Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Knowledge of municipal law and related practice areas such as labor and civil litigation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to advise city departments.

Responsibilities

• Act as a legal advisor to the City Attorney and departments on constitutional, contract, employment, privacy, and PRA matters.
• Advise on labor/employment issues, handle litigation, grievances, arbitration proceedings, and enforcement actions.
• Prepare and review contracts, policies, ordinances, staff reports and other legal documents.
