Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a detail-oriented Game QA Tester to join our Quality Assurance team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing games across Web and Native platforms, with a strong focus on gameplay, usability, and player experience.

Responsibilities include performing functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility, and usability testing; creating comprehensive bug reports with steps, screenshots, videos, and logs; and collaborating with developers,

Qualifications

3–5 years of professional experience in Game Testing / Game QA.
Hands-on testing of Web-based and Native games.
Experience testing games using multiple input methods, including: Keyboard & Mouse, Trackpad, Game Controllers.

Responsibilities

Perform functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility, and usability testing for games.
Test games across Web-based and Native platforms.
Validate gameplay mechanics, UI/UX, audio, performance, save/load functionality, and multiplayer features (where applicable).
Execute test cases and create comprehensive bug reports with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, and logs.
Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing for new builds.
Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
Identify gameplay inconsistencies and provide constructive feedback to improve the overall player experience.
Participate in release readiness activities and maintain high-quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
